On Saturday, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) gave the fans a glimpse of their new kit in a short video on social media.

In February the board had signed a deal with Cinch, UK’s fastest-growing online used car marketplace; they are now the Principal Partner of England Cricket from May 2021, and its logo will now appear in the centre of the jersey as well on the right sleeve.

City of London firm IG, which is a global leader in online trading and investments, also signed a three-year deal with ECB to sponsor. The IG branding will appear on the sleeves of the Men’s and Women’s team jerseys across all the formats. New Balance has been retained as the official kit supplier of England Cricket.

While England have retained the blue jersey for the limited-overs format, it is still not confirmed that the Red jersey will be continued or not in the T20 format, which they have been donning in the past few years. The official launch of the jerseys and sale would be announced on June 17.

England players unlikely to feature in the remainder of IPL 2021

The England players who are centrally contracted are unlikely to take part in the rescheduled IPL 2021, which is slated for September-October in the UAE.

Ashley Giles, the managing director of England men’s cricket, has asserted that the Three Lions have a packed calendar leading up to the T20 World Cup and the Ashes; hence, the players may be rested at some point, but not play in the IPL.

Starting June 2, they host New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India in all three formats in the summer till September 14. Following which Eoin Morgan’s side will tour Bangladesh and Pakistan culminating their Asia tour with the T20 World Cup – in India or UAE. Joe Root will then march his men to Australia for the Ashes.

“We are going to have to give some of these guys a break at some point. But the intention of giving guys a break for, say, Bangladesh, wouldn’t be for them to go and play cricket elsewhere. We have to manage our schedule now, so we get our guys arriving in the best shape possible for the T20 World Cup and the Ashes,” Giles was quoted by ESPNcricinfo as saying.
