Meanwhile, SRH skipper Bhuvneshwar Kumar, chose to bat first after winning the toss. However, Harpreet Brar gouged them by getting the wickets of Rahul Tripathi, Abhishek Sharma, and Aiden Markram. At 99 for 6 after 16 overs, it appeared as though Sunrisers would try and battle to reach 150 however Romario Shepherd and Washington Sundar stripped 58 off the last four overs to lift them to a good aggregate.

Kings batted in the fifth gear all through their innings. A flying beginning from Jonny Bairstow implied they dashed away to 62 for 1 toward the finish of the powerplay. In the last ten overs, they required just 61. Liam Livingstone’s unbeaten 49 off 22 balls, studded with two fours and five sixes, guaranteed they required only 31 balls to knock off those runs.
