New Zealand ODI and T20I squads for Bangladesh tour officially announced

New Zealand's young pace trio of Blair Tickner, William O'Rourke, and Matthew Fisher will be back for the White Ferns ahead of the upcoming tour to Bangladesh. The three pacers have recovered from their respective injuries and will be a crucial part of the Tom Latham-led white-ball sides.
New Zealand would not have their big names in the squad, as many players are currently part of the two franchise tournaments in Pakistan and India, that is, the PSL and the IPL. After finishing the 2026 T20 World Cup as the runners-up, they hosted South Africa for a five-match T20I series.
Tom Latham, the veteran New Zealand cricketer, would be leading them as the skipper of the team. He replaced Mitchell Santner as the white-ball captain after the spinner left due to his commitments with the Mumbai Indians in the IPL.
New Zealand pace trio set to return in Bangladesh tour
The three fast bowlers, Matthew Fisher, Will O'Rourke, and Blair Tickner, are set to return to the New Zealand side following injuries for the white-ball tour of Bangladesh in April.
O'Rourke is returning from a back injury for the three ODIs, while on the other hand, the two other seamers, Matt Fisher, who missed out due to a shin injury, will feature only in the T20I squad. Blair Tickner has been named on both sides after he recovered from his ankle injury.
"Will, Blair and Matt have been working very hard over the past few months to get themselves back on the park and back in contention for selection, and we're pleased to welcome them back into the group," head coach Rob Walter said.
Dean Foxcroft was recalled into the NZ side following a tremendous domestic season
Dean Foxcroft, the off-spin bowling all-rounder, will return to the white-ball setup for the first time since April 2024. He has been recalled into the team following a superb domestic season, after he finished as the second-highest scorer for the Central Districts.
"With the amount of cricket being played in the modern game, having depth in our bowling stocks is key. Having players of this quality come back is great for our side," the New Zealand coach expressed.
Some other major names in the competition include Muhammad Abbas and Adi Ashok, the two players who have been named in the ODI squad following their successful one-day series for New Zealand A against Sri Lanka. Kristian Clarke and Ben Sears have also been named in the squad for both contests. Jayden Lennox from NZ's victorious series in India is about to make his T20I debut.
