New Zealand player aims to click a photo with Virat Kohli and put it on Instagram

Virat Kohli is not only a renowned name in India but abroad as well. The talismanic Indian batter has broken several records in the world of cricket and has not yet stopped playing. The 35-year-old has arguably the highest fan following in the world among the cricketers.

Recently, young New Zealand women's cricketer Xara Jetly came out in front of the camera and expressed her desire to click a photo with Kohli. Jetly featured in a podcast and shared her desire for the legendary India batter.

Xara Jetly aims to click a photo with Virat Kohli and put it on Instagram

During a podcast ‘Fine Legs — The Cricket Podcast’, Xara Jetly was asked the name of the cricketers she would love to bowl to, one from the men's game and the other from the women's game.

Jetly was quick to take Virat Kohli's name when it came to men's cricket. However, she did not take any name in the women's game. She also mentioned that she would love to take a photo with Virat Kohli and put it on Instagram.

“Yeah, this is really basic for me. I’d bowl to…the women’s game is tougher, but in the men’s game, I wanna bowl to Virat Kohli. If I could take a photo with Virat Kohli and put it on Instagram, that would be the GOAL,” Jetly said during the podcast.

After taking Virat Kohli's name, Jetly also said that she would like to click a photo with Rohit Sharma as well. "Rohit Sharma as well. Rohit would be amazing," Jetly added.

Xara Jetly's performance in domestic cricket

Xara Jetly is a 22-year-old offspinner from New Zealand's domestic circuit. She plays for Wellington Blaze and was a key part of the team's squad that won the last edition of the Women's Super Smash. She picked up 9 wickets in 10 matches of the season at an average of 23 and an economy rate of 5.59.

In the domestic 50-over competition, Jetly fared even better by picking up 17 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 19.48 and an economy rate of 3.71. The youngster finished as the fourth-highest wicket-taker of the tournament and played a key role in her team's path to the final.

However, Xara Jetly is yet to make her international debut. Looking at her consistency, she might not be far away from her much-awaited debut for New Zealand.

Virat Kohli's next international assignment

Kohli is not only a great cricketer but also a highly regarded fashion icon as well. The 35-year-old is known for his attractive style which is copied around the world. Even at 35, he is fitter and more athletic than most players in the international circuit.

Virat Kohli is likely to be seen in India's home Test series against Bangladesh beginning on September 19. The legendary India batter has been given rest alongside captain Rohit Sharma and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah for the Duleep Trophy 2024.
