New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson has missed a lot of international cricket lately due to an elbow injury he suffered last year in November. Now, Kane Williamson has given an update on his injury mentioning that it is progressing well. The New Zealand captain last played an international game during the IND vs NZ 1st Test in November.

The right-handed batsman was part of the ICC T20I World Cup 2021 prior to the Test match against India, where he also led the team to the final but finished as runners-up. After November 2021, Williamson is out of the field due to his elbow injury. He is also not part of the ongoing home Test series against South Africa.

My Injury In The Last Small Period- Reveals Kane Williamson

While speaking to NZherald.com, the 31-year-old player said that his injury is in the last small period and progressing well. The former no.1 Test batsman also said that his batting load has started to increase a bit more.

“It’s improving; it’s been a bit of a long slog. Hopefully, this time gives it gets what it needs; it will be nice to put it behind me. It does seem to be progressing quite well – in the last small period, my batting load has started to increase quite a bit more; it’s looking positive,” Kane Williamson said.

The Kiwi skipper also spoke about the ongoing New Zealand vs South Africa Test series. He said that New Zealand played very well in the 1st Test but also feels that South Africa will make a comeback in the 2nd game.

“We couldn’t have hoped for much better in the first Test. Everybody bowled beautifully; there were a number of great contributions with the bat, and we caught everything – it was one of those days. I very much think South Africa will be better for the outing.,” Williamson further said.
