The Kane Williamson-led New Zealand Cricket Team is all set to turn back the clock in the upcoming T20I series against Australia when they sport their iconic retro beige jersey.
New Zealand’s international home summer will restart next week when the Kane Williamson-led BlackCaps host their Trans-Tasman rival Australia in a five-match T20I series.
Ahead of the series-opener, New Zealand Cricket’s official Twitter handle posted pictures of the players in the retro beige kits.

The beige-colored jersey was a constant for the BlackCaps during the 1980s and it will be the first time since the first-ever Twenty20 International against Australia back in 2005 that the home side will be sporting the retro kit.
However, the series was marred by the proliferation of Covid-19 and was eventually postponed after the culmination of the first ODI in Sydney.
The upcoming T20I series against Australia will be New Zealand’s first international assignment since their 2-0 Test series win against Pakistan at the start of the year.

New Zealand have enjoyed a brilliant home summer thus far. They kickstarted their international summer by beating West Indies in the T20I and Test series before doing an encore against Pakistan.
The first T20I of the five-match series will take place at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch on February 22.
