Veteran India opener Rohit Sharma made a stylish public appearance alongside Mumbai Indians owner Nita Ambani during the opening match of The Hundred 2026. The 39-year-old attended the season opener between MI London and Sunrisers Leeds at the Kennington Oval in London on Tuesday, July 21.
India recently completed their white-ball tour of England. The Men in Blue, led by Shubman Gill, lost the ODI series 2-1 after a 27-run defeat in the decider at Lord's Cricket Ground in London on Sunday. England, led by Harry Brook, successfully defended a massive total of 387 runs despite Rohit Sharma's century.

Rohit Sharma was spotted alongside Mumbai Indians owner Nita Ambani during the opening match of The Hundred 2026. The 39-year-old attended the clash between MI London and Sunrisers Leeds.
Rohit wore a black Henley T-shirt with light blue jeans, white sneakers, a dark green cap, and black sunglasses. The former Mumbai Indians captain also spent time with fans outside the stadium and posed for several photos.
The match marked the debut of MI London, formerly Oval Invincibles, after Reliance Group bought the franchise. Rohit watched the game with Nita Ambani amid reports that the Mumbai Indians are looking for a new captain in the IPL.

"Nice Tight Slap With the Bat"- Ravi Shastri lauds Rohit Sharma
Former India head coach Ravi Shastri, who was on commentary during the opening match of The Hundred 2026, spotted Rohit Sharma in the stands. Shastri stated that the former Indian captain answered critics with a brilliant century in the final ODI against England.
"Well, the Hitman is in, Ravi. Yes, he'll be nice and relaxed after silencing his critics. A lot of noise made before that last one-day international, and then a reply, a nice tight slap with the bat. 138. His first hundred at Lord's. Yeah, he's seen it all, five titles for the Mumbai Indians as captain," Shastri said during the commentary.
Before the series decider, several reports claimed the Lord's ODI could be Rohit's final appearance in the format. However, the veteran opener ended the speculation with a superb 138 off 110 balls, including 17 fours and five sixes.
Sam Curran and Nicholas Pooran Lead MI London to Winning Start
Sunrisers Leeds, formerly Northern Superchargers, struggled after MI London chose to bowl first. The visitors were bowled out for 143 in 99 balls, with Mitchell Marsh top-scoring with 41 off 27 balls. MI London pacer Richard Gleeson was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 wickets for 25 runs from his 19 deliveries.
MI London then slipped to 51/3 early in the chase. However, captain Sam Curran and Nicholas Pooran added an unbeaten 93-run partnership off just 40 balls, putting the hosts back in complete control.
Curran scored an unbeaten 60 runs off 39 balls, hitting five fours and three sixes. Pooran finished the match with an unbeaten 58 off 22 balls, smashing five fours and five sixes. MI London sealed a seven-wicket victory with 16 balls to spare.
