The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) named the women’s cricket squads for the upcoming ODI and T20I series against South Africa. The selectors have picked two different 15-member squads for the upcoming limited-overs series, which is set to begin on September 1.

The Women in Green will take on the South Africa women’s cricket team in three ODIs and three T20Is before the Asian Games 2023. The tour will start with the three T20I matches, followed by the ODI series, which is part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25.

Nida Dar To Lead Both ODI And T20I Squads

Nida Dar was named captain of the team for both squads. Veteran player Diana Baig has returned to the team after recovering from a prolonged finger injury, and her presence is expected to boost the squad. Baig has been sidelined from action for more than six months.

Shawaal Zulfiqar has been included in the squad following her performances in the U19 and Emerging Women’s tournaments. 18-year-old Zulfiqar is also part of the Asian Games squad. Spinner Syeda Aroob Shah also returned to the T20I squad after a gap of three years.

Natalia Parvez has been included in the T20I side and is also listed as a backup in the ODI squad. Kainat Imtiaz and Ayesha Naseem, who retired from cricket, are noticeable omissions from the squad. Umm-e-Hani and Waheeda Akhtar have been included in the 50-over squad.
