New addition to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru squad for the ongoing season of the IPL, Venkatesh Iyer, has revealed that the RCB dressing room has been intense, as it usually is in the presence of a character like Virat Kohli.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the first-ever IPL title in the last season of the IPL, and since they had a set side, they had particularly aimed at a few players in the mini-auction. The new inclusions seemed interesting as they got the likes of Venkatesh Iyer and Mangesh Yadav.

These players were among the significant attractions, as Venkatesh Iyer was included for a massive price of INR 7 crores, while Mangesh too was acquired at a price of INR 5.2 crores. However, none of these players have been named in the playing XI; Venkatesh Iyer was used as an impact player.

"No dressing room can not be intense where Virat Kohli is there," claimed Venkatesh Iyer

Virat Kohli is known for his intense character both on and off the field. When on the field, Virat has been spotted enjoying most of his game while also making it an engaging contest for his fans, as well as his fellow teammates.

Venkatesh Iyer has revealed that Virat has been relishing some fun moments with his teammates in the RCB camp. Kohli has been seen in some fun moments like imitating Romario Shepherd or calling Venkatesh Iyer, Allan Donald in the nets. Iyer claimed that no dressing room could be non-intense in his presence.

"The atmosphere is quite relaxed. At the same time, no dressing room can not be intense where Virat Kohli is there. So obviously, the intensity is right up there, and everyone is very clear about how they have to approach all games. And yeah, so far so good," said Venkatesh Iyer.

"I've been working quite hard with DK in the nets. Just waiting for my opportunity" - Venkatesh Iyer

Venkatesh revealed that he has been eagerly waiting for a chance to make his debut in the playing XI, or even to play as an impact player. He also revealed that he has been working hard in the nets and is waiting for his opportunity to express his form.

"I've been working quite hard with DK in the nets. Just waiting for my opportunity. But yeah, the team's doing really well. Everyone, whatever roles they're given, they are doing it 100%.

"And I think it's just about waiting for my opportunity, and whenever it arises, obviously, with the impact player rule, I can go into bat anytime. So yeah, just putting in the hard yards at training and let's see what happens," the RCBian claimed.

"We back our strengths and see where it takes us," said Iyer on RCB's strategies against DC

The RCBian also reckoned that their latest opposition, the Delhi Capitals, do have a considerable batting lineup, but relied on their bowlers, who have been in good form. He pointed out that a collective effort would be made, and they would stick to their strengths.

"Obviously, DC are a very good side with good batting. The weather, it's quite warm here. So we'll have to adapt quickly. And they've got a good, formidable batting line-up. But yeah, our bowling is very good, and we have our plan set," he said while speaking about the match.

"It's just about going out there and executing it. We've come to a point where, yes, there's opposition; we think about what the opposition is going to do, but we back our strengths and see where it takes us," he concluded.
