With the Asia Cup 2025 just a couple of weeks away, the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) has opened up chatter around the blockbuster India vs Pakistan clash in Dubai on September 14. With the governments already giving green signals, there is still uncertainty over the mother of all clashes.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the host of the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, but the games will be hosted in the UAE from September 9 to 28, thanks to the agreement between the two countries after India refused to travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

While the Men in Blue are all set to arrive in Dubai on September 4, Pakistan warms up with a T20I Tri-Series featuring Afghanistan and the UAE before the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. While India will kick off their campaign against the UAE on September 10, Pakistan will play its first game against Oman on September 12 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.

Preparations in the UAE are in full swing, and the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) hopes to provide top-quality cricket to the fans in the Asia Cup 2025. However, they are not “100%” sure about the India vs Pakistan clash but hope cricket will once again keep ahead of the politics.

ECB Chief Operating Officer Subhan Ahmed was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan: “Our preparations are complete, and we will provide fans with an opportunity to enjoy top-quality cricket. Although nothing can be guaranteed with 100% certainty, we are hopeful that the Indian team will also play against Pakistan.

There is no fear of a boycott; in fact, a houseful is expected. In the past, fans have always kept cricket and politics separate, and we believe the same will happen again.”

Fake ticket scam rocks Asia Cup 2025; ACC and ECB issue warning

There have also been fake tickets sold online, especially for the India vs Pakistan clash. To counter this, the Asian Cricket Council and ECB have issued strict warnings, urging fans to buy tickets only on the official platform once sales open in the coming days.

The ECB Chief Operating Officer further stated, “We are finalizing talks with a ticketing agency, and soon an agreement will be reached. Within the next few days, fans will be able to buy tickets online. We will also try to keep the prices reasonable.”

India-Pakistan fans to sit together in Dubai!

As for seating arrangements, there will be no segregation for India vs Pakistan fans as they will cheer side by side during the India vs Pakistan clash and the Asia Cup 2025. Ahmed further noted, “We have not received any such instruction from the government in Dubai.

As always, fans will sit together and enjoy the game. However, the local government in Sharjah directed us to seat Afghan and Pakistani fans separately, so we are doing that for the triangular series. But no Asia Cup match is scheduled to be held in Sharjah.”

No grand opening ceremony for the Asia Cup 2025

The ECB official also revealed that there will be a standard process to get the UAE visa for the fans, but special arrangements are being made for players, officials, and other stakeholders.

He also revealed that there will be no grand opening ceremony this time, as the Asia Cup 2025 will begin normally. Subhan Ahmed signed off by saying, “There will be no grand opening ceremony for the Asia Cup—it will start in a simple manner.”
