The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is unlikely to conduct a review meeting with the Indian team management to discuss the one-day international future of senior players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. According to recent reports, there will be no review session before the upcoming five-match T20I series.

India and South Africa arrived in Raipur ahead of the second ODI, scheduled for Wednesday, December 3, at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium. The hosts hold a 1-0 lead after their 17-run win in Ranchi. Notably, the Men in Blue will be hoping to secure the series before the final match.

Sportstar Reports BCCI Considering Internal Review Meeting in Raipur

Earlier, Sportstar reported that the BCCI was planning an internal meeting in Raipur. The report mentioned that key officials, including secretary Devajit Saikia, joint secretary Prabhtej Singh Bhatia, head coach Gautam Gambhir, and chief selector Ajit Agarkar, would attend the meeting.

There has been growing scrutiny over India’s Test tactics and speculation about the changing dynamics between the team management and senior players. The Men in Blue recently suffered their second Test whitewash under Gautam Gambhir’s coaching tenure.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired from T20Is and Tests, and now play only ODI cricket. The duo silenced critics with strong performances in the series opener against South Africa.

Virat Kohli Named Player of the Match in Ranchi ODI

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli produced a vintage batting performance at a packed stadium in Ranchi. After Yashasvi Jaiswal’s early dismissal, the senior duo added a 136-run stand for the second wicket. Rohit scored 57 off 51 balls before being dismissed.

Virat Kohli smashed 135 off 120 deliveries, including 11 fours and seven sixes. It was his 52nd ODI century, making him the batter with the most tons in a single format. The Men in Blue posted a total of 349 runs for eight wickets in 50 overs.

South Africa collapsed to 11/3 against the new ball. They were still struggling at 130/5 before Matthew Breetzke and Marco Jansen added a 97-run partnership. Corbin Bosch kept the chase alive with 67, but India’s bowlers held their nerve in the final overs to secure a 17-run win.
