It is being said that both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who have already retired from Tests and T20Is, are set to be seen in the national colors during India’s upcoming white-ball tour of Australia. The reports claimed that the three-match ODI series in Australia could mark the end of Rohit and Kohli’s white-ball careers.

Vijay Dahiya was quoted as saying by SportsYaari: “The way they see themselves is important. Similarly, the team management or selectors have to decide which way they want to go. That's important. Sometimes we forget that we should celebrate these players. Celebrate what they've done for Indian cricket. That's important until they play.
Vijay Dahiya says India should celebrate Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, not decide their future
The former Delhi Capitals coach also admitted that the Indian cricket team management and selectors will play a big role, but Rohit and Virat Kohli should be allowed to take the final call on their careers, given their immense contributions to Indian cricket.
Dahaiya further added, “At some point, everyone has to leave cricket. That will be a different stage, but the way they've contributed and what they've done should be celebrated. The motivation and fitness come from inside. There are many people who want to make the decision on their behalf. This is a personal call. The way they've contributed, nobody needs to tell them what they should do and don't.”
Don’t compare Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni: Vijay Dahiya
Meanwhile, Vijay Dahiya also addressed comparisons between Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni. He voiced against comparisons, saying it takes away from appreciating Dhoni and Rohit’s contributions, saying both brought unique leadership styles to the Indian cricket team.
Dahiya signed off by saying, “See, this is a result-oriented game. The two captains have won trophies. Comparison is a thief of joy. It removes the fun part. They are different types of characters, bring different things to the table, and run their teams their own way. Rohit's aggression is unique, and MS Dhoni's calmness is different.”
Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni's achievements as India captains
Notably, Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni are two of the world’s most successful captains. They are the joint most successful captains in the IPL, having led their teams to five titles. Dhoni won five IPL trophies as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain, while Rohit also has five titles to his name as Mumbai Indians (MI) captain.
Dhoni is the world’s only captain who has won all the ICC trophies as India captain, including the T20 World Cup, ODI World Cup, Champions Trophy, and Championship Mace. On the other hand, Rohit won the T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy, but he is still chasing the ODI World Cup.
