Not batting or captaincy!! Rohit Sharma wants Indian youngsters to learn this from Virat Kohli

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has the responsibility to lead youngsters in the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 this year. Rohit Sharma has revealed Virat Kohli’s two traits he expects from youngsters of the Indian Team.

Many youngsters are making the mark across all three formats. Youngsters like Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Mukesh Kumar, Shivam Dube, Rinku Singh, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and KS Bharat among others have impressed with their performances in recent times.

Rohit Sharma is the captain of Team India across all three formats. He is among the most senior members of the Indian team. Virat Kohli is another senior star who is a regular player across all three formats. Sharma and Virat Kohli are two crucial pillars of the Indian Cricket Team.

Rohit Sharma wants every youngster to have passion and hunger like Virat Kohli

Notably, Virat Kohli is not part of the ongoing India vs England 1st Test in Hyderabad. The right-handed batter will skip the first two Tests. However, Rohit Sharma has named two traits of Virat Kohli that he expects from every younger who plays for India.

While speaking to Jio Cinema, Rohit Sharma said that Virat Kohli is never satisfied and he always has the passion and hunger to showcase his efforts. Hence, Sharma wants every youngster to have hunger and passion like that of Virat Kohli.

“Virat Kohli can easily be satisfied like he can take it easy for 2-3 series but he never does that, he will be available every time, he is hungry & passionate – that is what I need to have from the youngsters”, the Indian captain said.

India needs 231 for victory in IND vs ENG 1st Test

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma also leads Team India in the ongoing India vs England 1st Test at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. India has a target of 231 runs in the 2nd innings. Earlier, England posted 246 and 420 in both innings. India piled up 436-10 in 1st innings.

Ben Stokes opted to bat in the match. The match has observed both teams dominating at different sessions across the last four days. However, India outplayed England in 1st innings with a 436 total against their 246.

Virat Kohli will be back in India vs England series

In the 2nd innings, the visitors arrived with a better show of 420. However, since they trailed by 190 runs, Team India has an achievable target of 231 in the 4th innings. Virat Kohli opted out of two matches of India vs England Test series due to personal reasons.

He was part of the initial squad. However, he will be back to the team in the forthcoming Tests. The India vs England Test series comprises 5 matches. The series will witness the final encounter on March 7.
