Former Indian all-rounder Stuart Binny hinted that he would play in foreign T20 leagues after taking international retirement.

On Monday, Binny announced retirement from all forms of cricket after playing six Tests, 14 ODIs and three T20 International matches for India and domestic cricket for close to 18 years.

Binny played 95 IPL matches for Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. With BCCI’s clause which mentions an Indian cricketer cannot play in the foreign league until his retirement, now Binny is free to play in the foreign leagues.

Binny said he would be looking to get into a coaching career and also might play in different T20 leagues in future if needed.

“At the moment, I am looking to get into coaching. I want to get involved with state teams. I have played for two years in the North-East. The cricket is growing there and I would like to share my experiences with the young talent over there,” Binny told Sports Tiger.

“But I am not closing the doors also to play leagues abroad. I think if the opportunity does come, I will have to take the decision when it comes and see if it makes sense to play at that time or coaching would be a better role. Definitely, both are open at this moment,” he added.

“I would personally like to thank them for giving me the opportunity to express myself and to go out and do well in the IPL. As I keep saying, Rajasthan Royals is like a family to me and I would like to be associated with them in the future,” Binny asserted.

Binny picked 880 runs and 22 wickets in the 10 seasons he played in IPL.
