IPL 2025 auction is all set to shuffle the squads of each team since it's a mega auction. It will take place between December and February this year. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) gave a stunning performance last season.

Although RCB could not win the title, they made it to playoffs after losing the first 7 games out of 8. Now, the IPL 2025 auction will make a lot of changes in each team and they will have a lot of new faces. While some players will get expensive contracts, others will be released from their current squad.

RCB has been a consistent performer for the last few years in the Indian Premier League, however, they have not managed to reach the final. Ahead of the IPL 2025 auction, they will part ways with many players from their squad. In this listicle, we talk about 3 players who would be released by RCB ahead of the IPL 2024 auction.

3 players who will be released by RCB ahead of IPL 2025 auction

3. Mahipal Lomror

Mahipal Lomror is the first player on this list. The left-handed batsman could only pile up 125 runs in 10 games in the 2024 season. He was picked for Rs. 95 lakh in the IPL 2022 mega auction by RCB.

He has also struggled to score runs consistently since joining RCB in 2022. Hence, the franchise will now release him from the squad.

2. Anuj Rawat

Anuj Rawat is another member of this list. He has played some marvelous knocks for RCB over the years. However, he has struggled to perform as an opener for the side.

It was also one of the reasons for Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli to take the role of openers. In IPL 2024, the left-handed batter added just 98 runs off 5 games. Hence, the franchisee might drop him from the squad ahead of IPL 2025.

1. Dinesh Karthik

Dinesh Karthik is the confirmed member whom RCB will drop from their squad as the wicketkeeper-batsman has retired from all forms of cricket after IPL 2024.

DK gave a dashing performance in the season, smacking 326 runs in 13 innings with 4 unbeaten knocks. At a strike rate of 187+, Karthik also led the team to victory in some games.

He struggled in the 2023 season but was phenomenal in the 2022 season; when RCB picked him in mega auction. After his retirement, RCB will look for an equally powerful wicketkeeper-batsman.
