The Shivam Dube-starrer India National Cricket Team has kicked off their Asia Cup 2025 campaign with high energy as the players hit the nets for their first training session at the ICC Academy in Dubai. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a glimpse of the atmosphere inside the camp.
The clip instantly went viral as the Men in Blue got back together ahead of the Asia Cup 2025, starting on September 9 in the UAE. The atmosphere in Dubai looked electric, with the players training hard while also enjoying every moment as a team ahead of the tournament.
Shivam Dube shares Gautam Gambhir's message after joining the India squad
The star Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube was all smiles as he soaked in the team environment. He looked sharp in the nets and shared how special it felt to be back in the blue jersey. Shivam Dube also revealed the simple yet powerful message from the Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir.

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Shivam Dube said that Gautam Gambhir wants every player of the squad to do something new whenever they play for India, and he has tried to use this chance well by training hard and improving himself as a cricketer ahead of the Asia Cup 2025.
Shivam Dube said in a video shared by the BCCI on its website, “I had a lot of fun. The atmosphere of this team is very amazing. As soon as I joined the team, it felt like, yes, I am back.
"And yes, there is always one thing that the coach has said to every player: ‘Whenever you play for your country, you have got an opportunity to do something new.’ So, I have utilized it well, I have trained well, and I have tried to become a better cricketer," Shivam Dube added.
Suryakumar Yadav hails team spirit ahead of Asia Cup 2025
Meanwhile, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav too was at his lively best, calling the squad a brilliant mix of talent and effort ahead of his team's first game against the UAE on September 10.
He spoke about the positive vibe in the squad and couldn’t stop praising the way his teammates throw themselves around in training, admiring and supporting each other.
Suryakumar Yadav said in the same video, “To have such a brilliant bunch around with an unbelievable skill set. I always have a smile on my face when I see those boys on the ground because of the way they put their bodies on the line. I think that's what I want from them. And they just enjoy being on the ground.”
8 Teams battle for Asia Cup 2025 glory
Notably, Asia Cup 2025 is all set to kick off on September 9 in the UAE, and this edition will be played in the T20 format. The opening match will see Afghanistan take on Hong Kong in Abu Dhabi. India, Oman, Pakistan, the UAE, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka will battle for the title.
The teams are divided into two groups of four. Group A has India, Oman, Pakistan, and the UAE, while Group B includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka. Each team will play all other teams in their group once.
The top two from each group will move to the Super Four stage, where they will face each other again. The two best teams from the Super Four stage will meet in the final on September 28.
