Amid the rumours, a significant update has emerged in the middle of the ongoing ODI series between India and West Indies.
According to the latest updates, all four selectors are currently in Guwahati, the venue for the India vs West Indies second ODI match, which will take place at the Barsapara Stadium on Wednesday, September 30. Selectors will keep their eyes on the match, as these ODIs are important as the next ODI World Cup is approaching soon. Through these matches, the selectors will try to find out the best possible set of players for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
Ajit Agarkar was reportedly not with the selectors in Guwahati
But there is a twist. While all the selectors are reportedly in Guwahati ahead of the India vs West Indies second ODI match, the head of the selectors, Ajit Agarkar, is not with the committee members. Why is Agarkar currently not with the other selectors? As of now, there is no clear answer behind his absence.

Pragyan Ojha was the leader of the selectors
In the absence of Ajit Agarkar, there was someone who was in charge of the selectors, and it was the former Team India spinner, Pragyan Ojha. According to Kushan Sarkar's claims, Ojha was the interim head of the selection committee for the time being.
The selectors are likely to select the team for the upcoming series against the New Zealand cricket team. Some of the ODI players who also play Tests for India could start red-ball training after the conclusion of the series with West Indies.
