Mumbai Indians captain and star all-rounder Hardik Pandya shared an emotional yet encouraging post on social media after his team suffered a 12-run loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 20th game of the ongoing IPL 2025 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Hardik Pandya tried his best to turn the fortune of the Mumbai Indians with both bat and ball, but his elder brother Krunal Pandya managed to pull off a thrilling win for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2025 game. It was MI's fourth defeat in their five games so far this season.
Mumbai Indians have managed to win just one match this season, and that was against Kolkata Knight Riders. They've suffered defeats in the rest of their four games against Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the tournament so far.

A day after suffering yet another heartbreaking loss in IPL 2025, Hardik shared an emotional post on his social media handles, as the MI skipper has stressed that his team will continue to keep the fight going despite suffering a fourth defeat in five matches in the ongoing tournament.

Pandya made it clear that Mumbai Indians aren’t ready to back down and promised the team will keep pushing forward, keep fighting, and give it their all because that’s the only way the team knows how to play in his inspirational post on social media.
Sharing a picture from the MI vs RCB match on his X handle, Hardik wrote in the caption, “We’ll keep going, we’ll keep pushing, we’ll keep fighting. There’s no other way this team knows how to play 💙 @mipaltan.”

Hardik Pandya calls Tilak Varma 'warrior' in a heart-warming Insta post
The MI captain has also shared an Instagram story featuring Tilak Varma after the match. Hardik and Tilak Varma, who played a brilliant knock of 56 runs off 29 balls, added 89 runs off 34 balls for the fifth wicket and kept MI’s hopes alive in the match against the RCB.
Sharing a picture of him with Tilak on his Insta story, Hardik called the young Indian batter a warrior. The MI captain said, “Tilak Varma fought like a warrior” against the RCB in the IPL 2025 clash.

Hardik Pandya breaks Anil Kumble’s IPL record
Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya achieved a remarkable milestone despite his team losing the game against the Bengaluru side. Pandya surpassed the legendary Anil Kumble’s record, as he now has the second-highest wickets in the tournament as captain.
The star all-rounder dismissed Virat Kohli and RCB captain Rajat Patidar to take his wicket tally for the season to 10 in just four matches, joining Noor Ahmad at the top of the wicket-takers list in IPL 2025 so far. With these two wickets, Hardik now has 32 wickets as a captain in the IPL, which is the highest by any Indian skipper in the league’s history.
He now sits second overall, only behind Shane Warne, who picked up 57 wickets while leading Rajasthan Royals between 2008 and 2011. Notably, Kumble had taken 30 wickets as captain in 26 innings in the tournament between 2009 and 2010.
