In a major development, the star India National Cricket Team batters KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma are all set to undergo fitness tests very soon.
A RevSportz journalist, Rohit Juglan, has reported that Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and some other cricketers will undergo the tests on August 30 and 31 at the BCCI Centre of Excellence.
KL Rahul shone on the England tour, Rohit Sharma retired
Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from Test cricket on May 7, 2025, ahead of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 against the England National Cricket Team.
He finished his Test career with 4301 runs in his bag in 67 matches at an average of 40.57 and was replaced by Shubman Gill as the red-ball skipper.
After Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli also retired and India travelled to England with very little experience in the squad. KL Rahul was the most experienced batter of the Test team, and he stepped up and took the responsibility of a senior batter really well.
The Karnataka batter scored good runs across all five matches and finished as the third-highest run-getter in the series. In five innings, KL Rahul scored 532 runs at an average of 53.20. He smashed two centuries and two fifties on the tour.

Rohit Sharma to undergo Yo-Yo test
In a video shared by RevSportz on their X handle, Rohit Juglan stated that Rohit Sharma will undergo some fitness tests on August 30 and then participate in the Yo-Yo test on August 31.
"At this point of time, I can break that Rohit Sharma will be there in the new Centre of Excellence from BCCI and he'll be there on the last days of this month, very likely on 30th and 31st, the two important days.
"He'll be there around 29th or 30th, what I'm getting from my sources, from you know what the sources also told me is that he'll be going through with that yo-yo test on 31st, most likely on 31st and before that on 30th, it will be other tests, you know, there were some stretchings, there were some other tests will be part of that," the RevSportz journalist said.
No Bronco Test? Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul to undergo Yo-Yo tests
The journalist further stated that some other players, like Harshit Rana, will also be present at the BCCI Centre of Excellence for undergoing fitness tests alongside Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul. However, he was unsure if the newly introduced Bronco Test would be part of the sessions or not. He stated:
"Rohit Sharma will be there and he'll be going through all that, you know, the yo-yo test, the other test, the Bronco test is very much part of the discussions but, you know, what I've seen for the Bronco test is it's very much part of the, you know, series part, not in the Centre of Excellence area part. So, that will be an interesting call that whether it's going on there in the Centre of Excellence area or not but at this point of time."
Juglan also stated that there is no update on Virat Kohli's participation in the fitness tests at the BCCI Centre of Excellence.
"So, yes, I also asked about Virat Kohli's, you know, availability that will he be there or not but at this point of time, there's nothing, there's no dates as far as Virat Kohli is concerned," he stated.
