The Ben Stokes-led England National Cricket Team rubbed salt on the wounds of the India National Cricket Team with a thrilling 22-run victory in the third Test at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground. England outplayed India on the dramatic Day 5 to take a 2-1 lead in the ongoing five-match Test series.
India lost the Lord’s Test from the winning position, and fans blamed the unnecessary aggression and drama for the crushing defeat, which put them in a position where they have to win the remaining two Tests to clinch their first-ever Test series in England since 2007.

They have won just three Test series in England, in 1971, 1986, and 2007. The young Indian cricket team, led by Shubman Gill, had the golden chance to take a lead at Lord’s and shatter Ben Stokes and his team’s confidence, but the hosts made a stunning comeback to crush the touring side.

Chasing 193 runs to win the third Test, the Indian team had a really forgettable start on Day 4 evening. By the end of Day 4, they were struggling at 58 for 4. KL Rahul stood firm with an unbeaten 33, but the team lost Yashasvi Jaiswal (0), Karun Nair (14), Shubman Gill (6), and Akash Deep (1) early.
England’s Brydon Carse made things worse for India by taking two crucial wickets in that late session. Earlier on Day 4, India bowled out England for 192 in their second innings. Washington Sundar was the star with four wickets, while Joe Root top-scored for England with 40 runs.
