NZ vs NED: Watch: Trent Boult Takes Potential Catch Of The Tournament As Shows Great Skills To Send Bas De Leede Packing In ICC World Cup 2023

New Zealand pacer Trent Boult took a magnificent catch in the ongoing sixth game of the ICC World Cup 2023 against the Netherlands. The fast bowler potentially took a catch of the tournament at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad and made many go gaga. 

It happened during the 17th over the second innings when Rachin Ravindra bowled a tossed-up delivery on the length of the off stump. Bas de Leede cleared his front leg as he tried to chip it square. He didn’t get to the pitch of the ball and ended up hitting it a bit straighter. 

Trent Boult, who was at long-on, took the catch with a reverse cup just ahead of the boundary rope. As he realized that he would cross the ropes, he showed great presence of mind. He flicked the ball with his left hand as he went beyond the ropes. 

As the ball was in the air, Trent Boult returned to the field and gobbled the ball easily. Although the decision went up the replays showed that he had taken the catch cleanly. His magnificent effort saw Bas de Leede back in the hut for 18 runs off 25 balls.

New Zealand had a great outing with the bat as they posted 322 runs on the board. With the ball too, they chipped in with regular wickets and are looking favourites to win the game. If they manage to win, it’ll be their second straight win. 

NZ vs NED: Trent Boult fails to make a mark with the ball in the powerplay 

In what was the rarest of occasions, Trent Boult failed to make an impact in the powerplay. The left-arm pacer didn’t pick any wickets this time around. But he was economical as he conceded just 25 runs in the 6 overs he bowled. 

Mat Henry, however, was successful as he picked one wicket. Spinners Micthell Santner and Rachin Ravindra made a vital contribution as they picked four wickets between them.
