Young New Zealand opening batter Rachin Ravindra created history during the 35th match of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023. Rachin Ravindra became the first batter to smash three centuries on his debut World Cup in the thirteen editions of the ODI tournaments.
Rachin Ravindra smashed his third hundred of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 against Pakistan at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, November 4. The left-handed batter scored 108 runs off 94 deliveries with the help of 15 boundaries and six.
Rachin Ravindra Becomes First Batter To Score Three Centuries On Debut Season
The 23-year-old opened the innings along with Devon Conway in a must-win encounter. Ravindra showed intent from the start and reached his half-century mark with 51 balls. He added a 180-run partnership with skipper Kane Williamson for the second wicket.
Rachin Ravindra achieved his century in the 34th over with a controlled pull shot to the fine leg off Mohammad Wasim Jr. He celebrated the milestone by removing his helmet and raising his arms. Williamson, who was at the other end, showed appreciation with a hug.
