India National Cricket Team batter Shubman Gill talked about his performance with the bat in the ongoing third Test against the New Zealand National Cricket Team. He rated his knock as one of the best in the longest format of the game.
Shubman Gill came up with a sensational effort with the bat in the ongoing third Test against New Zealand. The batter produced one of his best innings in the longest format of the game and made sure that he kept his team in the hunt.

Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant added 96 runs together
Gill joined hands with Rishabh Pant and led the rescue charge after India lost 4 wickets under 90 runs. He looked solid at the crease and ensured that he stayed there for long and continued his golden touch with the bat in the longest format of the game.
Gill and Rishabh Pant, who scored 60 runs, added 96 runs together and helped India National Cricket Team take the lead. With the way Gill was batting, it seemed that he would notch up another Test ton, but unfortunately, he was dismissed in the 90s.
Gill played a magnificent innings of 90 runs off 146 balls and also slammed 7 fours and 1 six in his knock which allowed the team to take the first innings lead of 28 runs.

While talking about his partnership with Rishabh Pant, Gill mentioned that they were trying to put the bowlers under pressure and they had a lot of fun batting together. While talking to reporters about the same, he explained:
"One of my better knocks in Test. To have a consistent mindset while playing spinners. We were trying to put them under pressure. We were having fun. It is difficult for bowlers to bowl consistently if we keep hitting them."

Shubman Gill revealed that he worked on his game ahead of the England series he revealed about his conversations with Gautam Gambhir and said that he is having a great year and was very confident coming into the game. He added:
"I worked on my game before the England series started. I really didn't get that much time because of injury. Before the Pune Test, I got net sessions. Conversations with the coach was to have more repetition of the practice I do. I've been having a great year. I was confident going into this game. When you are playing for the country, you enjoy it."
Shubman Gill has been going through the rich vain of form in the Tests in 2024. He has surpassed the 800-run mark in 10 Tests and will be extremely important for his team going ahead.
