PAK vs AUS: Haris Rauf, Usama Mir, Zaman Khan Train With Test Squad As PCB Declines NOC Extension

Pakistan cricketers Haris Rauf, Usama Mir, and Zaman Khan have joined the national team ahead of the third Test against Australia. Haris Rauf, Usama Mir, and Zaman Khan were in Australia to participate in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2023-24 season.

Haris Rauf received a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) despite not participating in the Test series against Australia. Usama Mir and Zaman Khan were also issued NOCs to take part in the T20 tournament until December 28.

Pakistan team director Mohammad Hafeez revealed that Haris Rauf initially committed to playing Test cricket but later decided against participating in the series.

According to a report by CricketPakistan.com, despite the three players applying for No Objection Certificates to extend their participation in the Big Bash League, the Pakistan Cricket Board declined the request for the national cricketers to play additional matches.

The spokesperson for the national team has confirmed that despite not being part of the Test squad for the Australia series, the three players will be training with the team. The players initiated their practice sessions on Monday in preparation for the third Test.

Rauf, Mir, and Zaman are included in the national squad for the T20 series against New Zealand, set to commence on January 12 in Auckland. Left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi will assume the leadership role for the national team in the upcoming five-match T20I series.
