PAK Vs AUS: Hasan Ali Goes Mad After Defeat To India, Blames India For Pakistan Players Falling Sick
Fast bowler Hasan Ali has shed light on the challenges facing the Pakistan cricket team at the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023, attributing a sense of feverishness within the squad to their restricted movement and confinement to their hotel. The team’s inability to freely venture outside their accommodations has cast a shadow over their World Cup campaign, with security concerns and political tensions adding to their discomfort.
Hasan Ali, speaking about their confinement, mentioned, “We can’t go out much. If we do want to go out, we have to go with an entire security team.” This limitation on their movements has been a result of a tense political and diplomatic relationship between Pakistan and India, which has restricted their encounters to international cricket tournaments rather than bilateral events.
This World Cup has been Pakistan’s first visit to India in seven years, with only two members of their 15-man squad having prior experience playing in India. The security clearance required for Pakistan’s participation was a contentious issue, and even after receiving it, the government expressed reservations about the team’s safety. Visas for the Pakistani squad were issued only two days before their departure.
Hasan Ali Complained About Room Sickness In Pakistan Team
Despite the warm hospitality and good care they receive within their confines, Hasan Ali admitted that their inability to step outside freely has affected the players, leading to what he calls “room sickness.” This confinement has left the players struggling with their health, with six of them, including Abdullah Shafique, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, and Agha Salman, suffering from flu and fever.
One of the major disappointments for the Pakistani team has been the absence of their fans from across the border. The failure to secure visas effectively banned Pakistan supporters from attending the World Cup, and only a handful managed to make it to the high-profile India-Pakistan clash, mainly expatriates from the United States and the United Kingdom.
Despite these challenges, Hasan Ali, who is Pakistan’s leading wicket-taker in the World Cup with seven scalps, expressed his desire to continue performing well for his team. The Pakistan team has also lodged a complaint with the International Cricket Council regarding the “inappropriate behavior” of Indian fans towards their players during the match in Ahmedabad, where they faced a hostile crowd.
In the face of these difficulties, the Pakistan cricket team remains determined to compete at their best, even in an environment fraught with external factors that have cast a shadow over their World Cup journey. They are going to face Australia at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru in a few hours. The Men In Green will look to get back to their winning ways against the Mighty Aussies.
