PAK vs BAN: Shahid Afridi Rips Apart Zaka Ashraf For Leaking Babar Azam's WhatsApp Chats On Live TV

Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi reacted to Babar Azam’s leaked WhatsApp message controversy. He called it shoddy behavior and said that whosoever has done it should be ashamed of himself as they are degrading their captain. 

The controversies in Pakistan cricket are increasing day by day. This happened after the team’s poor outing in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023. The blame for that has been put on the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Chairman Zaka Ashraf. 

Recently former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif made a bold claim saying that captain Babar Azam has been texting Zaka Ashraf for a while but he hasn’t been replying at all. His statement became a big talking point and the chairman came under a lot of scrutiny. 

However, a few days after that a news channel in Pakistan shared a screenshot of Babar Azam’s chat with PCB COO Salman Naseer. In that, the captain has told the official that he hasn’t texted Zaka Ashraf even once. As the picture of the conversation went viral on the internet, it invited a lot of criticism. 

Many former cricketers from Pakistan lashed out at the news channel for their gesture and the latest to join the bandwagon is Shahid Afridi. The former skipper showcasing someone’s private conversation is a crime. 

He made a bold statement, saying that even if it has been done by the chairman Zaka Ashraf, it’s a shameful act. Shahid Afridi stated: 

“Main yeh kahunga yeh ghatiya harkat hay, bohat hi ghatiya harkat hay. Kisi ka private message kis trah dikha sakte hain TV pe aur wo bhi captain ka? Humaray players ko khud itna badnaam kar rahe hain. Agar chairman ne bhi yeh harkat ki hay toh bohat ghatiya harkat hay.”

Waqar Younis also wasn’t amazed by the Babar Azam’s leaked message controversy. He called it a pathetic act and raised support for the Pakistan captain, saying that the batter was an asset to the team. Taking to his Twitter account, he explained; 

“Ya kya Karna ki koshish kar raha ho aap loog??? This is pathetic !!!
