PAK vs CAN: Mohammad Wasim exposes Imad Wasim's shocking knee injury hidden from PCB

Former Pakistan Cricket Team selector Mohammad Wasim lashed out at the all-rounder for his performance in the game against India in the T20 World Cup 2024. He pointed out that the player was hiding an injury and didn’t play for the country but for financial things. 

Imad Wasim didn’t look in great shape during the game against India in the T20 World Cup 2024. The all-rounder although bowled well in the match but with the bat, he looked torrid as he hardly moved his feet around while attempting shots. 

Imad Wasim didn’t look completely fit as he was struggling while running as well. The all-rounder seemed to be nursing an injury because of which it was hard for him to hit the ball. He even gave up on running quite a few times. 

Ahead of the game, there were reports in Pakistan media that Imad Wasim wasn’t 100% fit. But team management is keen to play him. The reports claimed that the all-rounder would be given painkillers and injections so that he could take part in the game. 

Mohammad Wasim didn’t go easy on Imad Wasim, saying that things that the all-rounder was hiding a knee injuyr He pointed out that it was visible that the all-rounder was struggling with his knee issues. Speaking to a Pakistan news channel, he explained: 

“As far as fitness is concerned, things will open up in the future. It won't be hidden that you have told it is a rib injury and you actually have a knee injury, which has been there for a long time, will be visible in running between the wickets.  It will also be visible in bowling and in fielding. 

“When you compromise on things, whether it is fitness or quality, only on the basis of experience, the financial side of the boys who have preferred it is more important. It is not a country.”

Mohammad Wasim also thrashed Imad for taking back his retirement, claiming that with his return, the unity of the team was destroyed. Talking about the same, he added: 

“If you call them again and again and bring them into the team, what kind of environment will you have?  Now everyone is saying that two years ago the unity of the team was very good. The unity was good and the results were also good. The only thing was that there were no characters in it. 

“Now you have brought those characters back. The result of the team is also in front of you and the environment of the team is also in front of you.”

Imad Wasim bowled three overs and gave away 17 runs. With the bat, he looked torrid and managed 15 runs off 23 balls. There were reports that after the India game, he would be sent back home and the team will be announcing a replacement shortly.
