However, Mohammad Rizwan’s half-century innings could not help Pakistan to win the match. In the first T20 International, England won against Pakistan by 6 wickets with 4 balls to spare. Pakistan scored 158 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs while batting first. England chased down the target for the loss of 4 wickets in 19.2 overs.
Alex Hales scored a half-century on his international comeback and scored 53 off 40 balls. Harry Brook played an important role with an unbeaten 42 off 25 balls. Luke Wood won the player of the match award for his spell of 4-0-24-3.
Mohammad Rizwan didn’t get chances in Pakistan’s playing XI when Sarfaraz Ahmed was the captain. After Sarfaraz lost his place in the team, Rizwan grabbed the opportunity with both hands. Babar Azam along with Mohammad Rizwan have strengthened Pakistan’s batting, especially in T20 international cricket.
England took a 1-0 lead in the seven-T20 series with this victory. The second match of the series will be played on Thursday in Karachi.
