Former Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal has taken a brutal dig at the Pakistani team and captain Babar Azam for playing selfishly during yesterday's loss to Ireland.

Babar Azam's side are currently playing a 3-match T20I series which got off to a very poor start for them as their Irish opponents drubbed them in quite a convincing manner. The Paul Stirling-led Ireland team registered their maiden T20I victory against Pakistan at the Clontarf Cricket Ground in Dublin.

What did Kamran Akmal say about Babar Azam and Pakistan?

While speaking on his latest YouTube video, Kamran Akmal was extremely critical of the Pakistan team and appeared to take a cryptic dig at skipper Babar Azam.

It's not just about Kamran Akmal criticizing the Pakistani team but almost every other ex-Pakistan cricketer is voicing their opinion against the current side.

After watching the entire match unfold, Kamran Akmal noted that the team didn't look to be on the same page as the players looked disjointed with each other. Akmral noted that all the players are only thinking about their own personal desires instead of keeping the needs of the team first, something that will only hinder the progress of the team.

Kamran Akmal advised that in order for Pakistan to win matches, they will have to play good cricket but most importantly they should stop chasing personal milestones. Putting the needs of the team as a priority is a very important thing and it's a proven fact that by doing so, teams are bound to win games.

Akmal concluded by saying that if the team management has not understood it yet, they will soon identify that players are playing for themselves, not for the team. Take Babar Azam for instance. For the sake of equaling Virat Kohli's record, the batter forgot that he consumed too many balls to score a half-century and later complained about the team's intent.

"We will get better when we will try to play good cricket. The players must think about the team and we will continue to lose if things stay like this. I am looking that players are prioritising personal goals which is not good for the side. The team management will soon identify this," Kamran Akmal said in his latest YT video.

Akmal says Pakistan need to bring back Shahid Afridi, Saeed Ajmal, and Mohammad Hafeez

Kamran Akmal then criticized the mindset of the Pakistani batters, claiming that they are only thinking of scoring a mediocre 170-180 runs. The former wicket-keeper batsman explained just how fast modern-day cricket has become and how that gives opportunity to a team like Ireland to even chase that total.

Akmal added that if the Pakistani team only wants to score around 170-180, then they need to bring back Shahid Afridi, Saeed Ajmal, and Mohammad Hafeez. He namedropped these players in an attempt to mock the current bowling line-up, which is not capable of bowling economically in the middle overs and claiming wickets.

"If you score just 182 runs against a side like Ireland, you know how fast modern-day cricket has become, a team like Ireland also gets the chance to chase it down. If you want to do this, if your mindset is restricted till scoring 170-180, then you need to bring Saeed Ajmal to bowl in the middle-overs."

"You have to bring Shahid Afridi to bowl those overs. You have to bring Mohammad Hafeez, who used to bowl the middle-overs and pick wickets consistently," Kamran Akmal concluded.
