PAK vs NED: Watch: Haris Rauf, Paul van Meekeren Engaged In Verbal Spat, Pacer Gives Fiery Send-off To Tailender After Winning Battle

Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf was at his aggressive best in the second game of the ICC World Cup 2023 against the Netherlands. The speedster was all over Paul van Meekeren and the duo engaged in a verbal spat at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. 

Haris Rauf bowled a short ball to Paul van Meekeren, to which he backed away and tried to push it. The batter was beaten on the outside edge and after that Pakistan pacer came to him and said him something. The duo then exchanged some words as the tempers were flared. 

On the very next ball, Paul van Meekeren creamed Haris Rauf for four past backward point. As he hit the boundary, ball he then had something to say to the Pakistan pacer, who had nothing to say as he was smashed for four runs.

Haris Rauf, however, took his revenge in the very next over he sent him packing with the fiery delivery. The fast bowler bowled a fast-length delivery. Paul van Meekeren had answers to it and the ball went to uproot the leg stump. 

As Haris Rauf removed him, he was fired up and pointed towards the stumps, showing the batter what he did and also roared loudly. Here’s the video:

Haris Rauf picked three wickets as Pakistan bundled out the Netherlands for just 205 runs to win the game by a massive margin of 81 runs. 

Haris Rauf bowled quick and took wickets – Babar Azam 

Pakistan captain Babar Azam talked about his side’s performance. He said that he’s satisfied with the way his team performed and credited Haris Rauf as well for his bowling. He added: 

“The way Hyderabad supports us, we are very happy. Our team is enjoying the hospitality. Pretty satisfied, credit to the bowlers, the way started well and the way we took wickets in the middle overs. We lost three wickets, the way Rizwan and Saud batted put pressure on the Netherlands. Saud built his innings and played well. He has improved a lot. Our bowlers bowled very well, we stuck to our plans, Haris bowled quick and took wickets.” 

Pakistan will next be seen in action when they will take on Sri Lanka next on 10th October at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
