The Pakistan cricket team suffered a 0-3 loss to England in the recently concluded Test series. After the second consecutive series loss at home, questions were raised about Babar Azam’s captaincy. The Men in Green have now lost four consecutive home tests, and this is their first-ever home whitewash.
Ramiz Raja was fired following the series loss, and Najam Sethi was appointed as PCB chairman. The new PCB management has reportedly sacked the governing body, the Mohammad Wasim-led selection committee, and decided not to renew the contracts of Saqlain Mushtaq and Shaun Tait.

Reports suggested that Babar might be sacked from his captaincy job. On Monday, PCB’s new CEO, Najam Sethi, broke his silence on the future of Babar’s captaincy in response to a reporter’s question on an old Ramiz Raja remark.
Earlier in the summer, former PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja said that he didn’t have backup captaincy options. Raja said, “I haven’t thought about it because I never imagined a life without Babar Azam.”
He Is In Our Hearts And Will Always Remain There – Najam Sethi
When a journalist questioned Sethi about Azam’s future as captain, citing Raja’s claim, the PCB Chairman responded appropriately. Talking about having different captains for different formats, Sethi said he will listen to the advice and recommendations of the people he appoints.
“Babar Azam is the star of Pakistan. Without him, the Pakistan team would be without its son of the soil. He is in our hearts and will always remain there,” said Sethi.
“I will listen to advice and recommendations from the people I appoint as I don’t make cricketing decisions by myself,” he added.
