PAK vs NZ: "I Had Messaged Him 4-5 Times During His Tenure, I Said I'm Waiting For Your Message And Your Call, He Didn't Reply Me Back" - Wahab Riaz Accuses Ramiz Raja Of Ill-Treatment

Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz made a big allegation against the former chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ramiz Raja. The left-arm pacer spoke about how Raja treated him and expressed his happiness over the former Pakistan batsman’s departure.

Ramiz Raja has been sacked as chairman of the PCB following Pakistan’s 0-3 loss to England in the home Test series. Najam Sethi has been appointed as chairman to the PCB’s interim board.  Chief selector Mohammad Wasim was also sacked, with legendary former all-rounder Shahid Afridi taking over on an interim basis.

I’m Present Cricketer, I Didn’t Take Retirement – Wahab Riaz

Wahab Riaz has disclosed how former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja mistreated him during his term at the cricket board. Riaz said that he messaged him ‘4-5 times’ when Rameez Raja was chairman, but ‘he never texted back’.The left-arm pacer also criticised former selector Wasim for his comments during Pakistan’s matches throughout various competitions.

“I was talking to one of the board members and he said he was happy that Ramiz bhai was going. So, the people who worked under you were not happy with you. I had messaged Ramiz bhai 4-5 times during his tenure, I said I’m waiting for your message and your call. He didn’t reply me back. Why? I’m a present cricketer, I didn’t take retirement,” Wahab said.

“Anyone who was above 30 was deemed unfit to play. They said that it could hurt the unity of the team or the performances of the team. Who has performed from the team that they chose? I don’t think any player has got as many chances as those under Ramiz bhai.

“We didn’t get more than 2 games. And after all that, the chief selector comes and says, ‘this team has given you a lot of happiness’. What’s this? Eid?” he added.
