Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram criticized Hasan Raza’s claim that Indian bowlers are using different balls in the ICC World Cup 2023. Wasim Akram emphasized that such conspiracy theories would only lead to embarrassment and humiliation on the global stage.

Indian pacers Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj have been exceptional with the ball in the World Cup. Bumrah picked up 15 wickets from seven matches at an average of 14.60, while Shami bagged 14 wickets in three games at an average of 6.71.

Their Mind Is Not There – Wasim Akram

Reacting to Hasan Raza’s strange remarks, Wasim Akram suggested that it was not important to engage in baseless speculations.

“I have been reading about it for the last couple of days. I want to have the same thing these guys are having, sounds like fun because their mind is not there. You will embarrass yourself and you will get us humiliated as well in front of the whole world,” Akram told A Sports.

BCCI Were Giving Them Different And Suspicious Balls – Hasan Raza

Earlier, Hasan Raza made controversial statements suggesting that Indian bowlers are getting favorable conditions due to different and suspicious balls in the World Cup. He mentioned that it appeared that the BCCI might be providing them with special balls.

“We are seeing that when they are batting, they bat really well and suddenly the ball starts doing things when India bowl. There have been 7-8 close DRS calls that have gone in their favour,” Raza was quoted as saying.

“The way Siraj and Shami were swinging the ball, it seemed like the ICC or the BCCI were giving them different and suspicious balls in the second innings. There needs to be an inspection done on the ball. There could also be an extra layer of coating on the ball for swing,” he added.

Raza made the statement after India registered a 302-run victory against Sri Lanka in Mumbai on November 2. The home team bowlers bundled out the opposition team for just 55 runs in 19.4 overs. The pace bowlers picked up nine wickets out of 10 in the Sri Lanka innings.
