Things are getting worse for Pakistan in the ICC World Cup 2023. Barring the losses, players are not keeping up with the weather. As per the reports in Pakistan media, it is learned that Hasan Ali is not well and has been ruled out of the clash against South Africa.
The reports suggested that Mohammad Wasim is likely to replace him in the XI for South Africa clash. The clash between the two teams is slated to take place in Chennai on Friday. Apart from this, it is also learned that Mickey Arthur spent a lot of time with Fakhar Zaman as well.
Pakistan are having a torrid time in the tournament as they have lost three back-to-back games from India, Australia, and Afghanistan. They would be desperate for a win as their chances to qualify for the tournament are very bleak. They can’t afford to lose any more games.
The Proteas challenge will be tough for them as they are in the red hot form. The Chennai surface would be challenging for them as they lost to Afghanistan there only. Skipper Babar Azam and management would be hoping to bring the best out of the players under pressure.
Pakistan traditionally are slow starters in ICC events. With the way they have performed in the last few tournaments, one cannot write them off. They would be hoping to make a comeback.

Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria made a bold remark after Pakistan suffered a loss against Afghanistan. He said that they didn’t pick the right team, targeting Hasan Ali, saying that he had been added to the team because of friendships. Speaking to Aaj Tak, he explained:
“In Naseem Shah’s absence, Pakistan are giving the new ball to Hasan Ali. Hasan Ali is only in the team because of friendships. Usama Mir plays for Multan Sultans, and Mushtaq Ahmed has good relations with Inzamam-ul-Haq. When a team is made for people’s benefits and not for the country, you will only get such results.”
Pakistan bowlers are not in the form of the ongoing tournament. They have leaked a lot of runs and also haven’t picked wickets at crucial junctures. With Hasan Ali also not being there, it’ll be a great challenge for them going into the match against South Africa.
