PAK vs SA: Rahmanullah Gurbaz Comes Up With A Heartwarming Message For Babar Azam

Afghanistan batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz, on Wednesday (October 25), posted a heartwarming message for Pakistan captain Babar Azam.

Two days after starring in Afghanistan’s historic win over Pakistan, the wicketkeeper-batsman decided to thank Babar for his brilliant gesture at the end of the game at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Afghanistan inflicted a humiliating 8-wicket defeat on Pakistan. It was their first-ever win over the Men in Green in the 50-over format.

Batting first, Pakistan posted a competitive total of 282 for 7 in the allotted 50 overs with Babar (74) and Abdullah Shafique (58) scoring fifties. In reply, Afghanistan chased down the total in 49 overs by losing just two wickets. Rahmanullah Gurbaz (65), Ibrahim Zadran (87), Rahmat Shah (77*), and Hashmatullah Shahidi (48*) starred with the bat for their side.

Despite the loss, Babar came up with a heartwarming gesture for Rahmanullah Gurbaz. The Pakistan captain gifted him his bat and received praise from all over for his gesture. And on Wednesday, the Afghan star also decided to thank the Pakistan batting star. Taking to X, he wrote:

Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s World Cup so far:

Rahmanullah Gurbaz has continued to impress in international cricket and has enjoyed a prolific World Cup campaign so far. He shone with the bat in both of his team’s wins so far. The right-handed batter began his campaign with a 47-run knock in a losing cause against Bangladesh before scoring 21 against India.

In the third game, he smashed 80 runs off just 57 balls to help his side stun reigning world champions England by 69 runs. He failed to score big against New Zealand but bounced back with a 65-run knock against Pakistan. With Afghanistan to play four more league games, Gurbaz will be looking to continue his fine form with the bat.
