It’s interesting to hear Mohammad Amir’s prediction for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Predicting the outcome of a sports event can be challenging, but his insights are valuable as a former cricketer. India and England are historically strong ODI teams, so it’s not surprising that he sees them as potential finalists.

India is one of the favourites to win the ICC Cricket World Cup this year and most of the experts have predicted that India will at least reach the finals of the megaevent. Mohammad Amir who was the leading wicket-taker for Pakistan in the 2019 edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup has predicted India and England as his two finalists. He also expressed his desire to watch India and Pakistan in the finals.

England is the defending champions and they are a really strong side capable of defending their title. No doubt that Mohammad Amir chose England ahead of Pakistan based on England’s recent performances. England may have lost their opening game against New Zealand, but they have a lot of time to turn the tide and potentially reach the finals.

Mohammad Amir And Imad Wasim Includes Pakistan In Top-4

Talking about Pakistan’s chances in the World Cup, Mohammad Amir said that he wishes India and Pakistan play in the finals. He could not write off India from the frame and he talked about momentum but on paper, he believed that India and England would play the finals.

Dua hai ki Pakistan-India khele lekin England-India jo technically cricket ki sense se dekhein toh India aur England. India ko write off kar nahi sakte. Vo toh depend karega ki momentum kaisahai, lekin agar aap on paper dekhein to England aur India,” he said on Pakistan’s Hasna Mana Hai TV show.

When Mohammad Amir was asked about the four semi-finalists, he included Pakistan in the list as he named India, England, Pakistan, and Australia as his semi-finalists. He talked about how the Pakistan team performs well when everyone writes them off.

“England, India, Australia, Pakistan. Pehele main New Zealand ko kar raha tha par ab Pakistan ko kyuki ab Pakistan team par koi pressure nahi hai. Jab Pakistan team ko sab write off karte hai naa fir humari team aake kuch different karti hai,” Amir added.

Senior Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim also joined the discussion, and when posed with the same query, he surprised everyone by excluding Australia and New Zealand from his selection. The 34-year-old all-rounder opted for Pakistan, India, England, and South Africa instead. He firmly believes that the final match will be contested between arch-rivals India and Pakistan.

“Maine predict kiya tha Pakistan-India final, Champions Trophy ka jaise hua tha. Insha’Allah, meri dua hai ki wahi ho. Pakistan-India final hua toh Pakistan jeetegi,” said Imad Wasim.

Pakistan won their first match against the Netherlands and is now ready to face Sri Lanka on 10th October in Hyderabad again. Then they will move on to Ahmedabad for the India-Pakistan clash which will take place on 14th October.
