Pakistan batter flirts with Jasprit Bumrah’s favor ahead of blockbuster Asia Cup 2025 match

Pakistan star batter Fakhar Zaman made a huge statement on ace India pacer Jasprit Bumrah ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 match between the two teams. Fakhar stated that Bumrah is a world-class bowler but emphasized that match conditions and the pitch play a crucial role on the field.

India will take on Pakistan in the sixth match of the Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, September 14. The Men in Blue will play their first major tournament without Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, while Pakistan will miss key players Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.

Fakhar Zaman’s Record Against Jasprit Bumrah in International Cricket

The much-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan brings back memories of the 2017 Champions Trophy final, where Jasprit Bumrah’s costly no-ball allowed Fakhar Zaman to score a century that secured Pakistan their first ICC Champions Trophy title.

The Indian pacer has yet to dismiss the left-hander in international cricket. Fakhar has scored 29 runs from 55 deliveries against Bumrah in the 50-over format without losing his wicket. Notably, they have not faced each other in T20 internationals.

Bumrah was the only frontline pacer in the XI in India’s Asia Cup 2025 opener against the UAE, as the Dubai surface offered more assistance to spinners.

Bumrah took one wicket for 19 runs in three overs. He dismissed Alishan Sharafu with a lethal delivery to draw the first blood for his team. India are expected to maintain the same combination, with fast-bowling all-rounders Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube in the attack.
