Cricket West Indies (CWI) has turned down the request of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to convert the ODI matches on the Caribbean tour to T20Is to help them prepare better for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 and ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.

The Pakistan National Cricket Team is scheduled to travel to the Caribbean nation for the three-match ODI and T20I series in August. But the PCB wanted the Cricket West Indies (CWI) to convert the three ODI matches into T20Is to help them prepare for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 and ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Director of High-Performance Aaqib Javed has confirmed that the squad for the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh will be announced within the next couple of days after the conclusion of the Skills Development Camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore.

Aaqib Javed said at the NCA: “The national team will be announced in a day or two. A lot of work has already been done on selection, and the final decision will be made soon. There are two tours ahead—one to Bangladesh and the other to the West Indies. The T20Is will be played in the USA, followed by ODIs in the Caribbean. These are ideal opportunities to test our bench strength, and Haris Rauf is likely to feature.”
