Pakistan Cricketers' central contracts updated with increased ICC share in salaries

In a recent development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced updated central contracts for players for the 2024-25 international season. The Pakistan Cricket Board retained existing match fees and monthly salaries but slightly increased the ICC share amount based on a pre-agreed formula.
Senior left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has been moved from Category A to Category B in the PCB’s 2024-25 central contracts. Senior players Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Usama Mir were not offered contracts this year. The PCB has awarded contracts to 25 players, compared to 27 last year.
Star batter Babar Azam and white-ball skipper Mohammad Rizwan have been included in Category A. Test captain Shan Masood, along with Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah, has been placed in Category B. Nine players have received Category C contracts, and 11 have been given Category D contracts.
Babar Azam, and Mohammed Rizwan Will receive PKR 6.57 Million Per Month
The Pakistan Cricket Board is set to obtain players' contract approvals via email, as they could not secure signatures before the team left for Australia. The updated contracts include the same match fees and monthly salaries, with a slight increase in the ICC share amount based on a pre-agreed formula.
In Category A, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan will earn a monthly contract fee of PKR 4.5 million. Their ICC share has increased to PKR 2.07 million per month, a 3% share of the 2024-25 ICC revenue compared to the previous PKR 1.53 million. The cricketers will earn a total of PKR 6.57 million per month.
Shaheen Shah Afridi And Others To Earn PKR 4.552 Million Per Month
In Category B, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Shan Masood will earn a monthly salary of PKR 4.552 million, including an ICC share of PKR 1.552 million. For Category C, players like Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Haris Rauf, and others will receive a monthly salary of PKR 2.035 million each month.
Category D, including Aamir Jamal and others, will receive a monthly salary of PKR 1.267 million, including the ICC share of PKR 517,500. Players with central contracts earn match fees for domestic games, receiving PKR 628,898 for four-day matches, PKR 322,310 for one-days, and PKR 209,292 for T20Is.
