India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, are set to take on arch-rivals Pakistan, led by Salman Ali Agha, in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026 at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday, February 15. The Men in Blue have defeated the neighbouring nation in 7 out of 8 matches in T20 World Cup history.
There had been uncertainty over the India-Pakistan match after the Pakistani government threatened to boycott the fixture. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) later changed its stance following discussions with the International Cricket Council and the Bangladesh Cricket Board on Sunday, February 8.
Both sides opened their T20 World Cup campaigns with victories against associate nations. India beat the USA by 29 runs, while Pakistan defeated the Netherlands and the USA in their first two matches. Pakistan will need an all-round performance to compete with a team like India in their upcoming match.
Here are the 3 Indian superstars who are set to annihilate Pakistan in this high-voltage clash.
1. Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah is the biggest nightmare for Pakistan batters. Pakistan’s top order, including Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan, has struggled against high-quality swing and seam movement. Bumrah has the ability to move the new ball both ways and bowl unplayable yorkers at the death.
In the Asia Cup 2025, Bumrah choked the Pakistani run flow, forcing mistakes from them. The right-arm pacer picked up four wickets in the tournament at an average of 24.5 and an economy rate of 16.7.
Bumrah’s four overs will likely decide the fate of the match. If he strikes early, Pakistan could be bowled out for a low score. Overall, the Indian fast bowler has picked up 107 wickets in 87 matches at an average of 18.82 and an economy rate of 6.54, with best bowling figures of 3/7.

2. Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav is one of the best T20 batters in the world. He played a match-winning knock against the USA in the tournament opener. The right-handed batter scored 84 off 49 balls, including 10 boundaries and four sixes.
Suryakumar uses the bowler’s pace to flick the ball behind square, disrupting field placements. Pakistan’s spinners Shadab Khan and Abrar Ahmed will find it difficult to settle against his sweep shots.
In the Asia Cup, SKY’s aggressive captaincy and batting dismantled Pakistan’s defensive strategies. He can manipulate the field and rotate the strike, frustrating the opposition captain, Salman Ali Agha.

3. Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya has been one of India’s biggest performers in matches against Pakistan. In high-pressure contests, he often makes an impact with both bat and ball. In the 2022 T20 World Cup, he returned figures of 3-30, and in the 2024 edition in New York, he recorded 2-24 on a challenging pitch.
With the bat, Pandya can change the course of a game as a finisher. In T20Is, he has scored 2076 runs in 130 matches at an average of 28.05 and a strike rate of 144.27, including five half-centuries.
With the ball, he has taken 105 wickets at an average of 27.01 and an economy rate of 8.30, with best figures of 4/16. His flexibility allows the captain to use him at different stages of the innings.
