Former Pakistan batter has revealed the most ideal playing XI for the Pakistan cricket team before they take on the Indians for the second time in the Asia Cup 2025, marking the beginning of the Super-4 for both teams.
India played against Pakistan once in the group-stage games, as the two rivals were placed in the same group due to a deal between the broadcasters and the Asian Cricket Council. However, now that both teams have made it through to the Super-4 stage, they will again have a face-off, which has been scheduled on the 21st of September.
The match will be intensified with the tension rising among the players, after the controversial no-handshake row from the Indian players in the last encounter.
Rashid Latif drops his Pakistan Playing XI for the Super-4 contest
The former Pakistani batter, Rashid Latif, has revealed a playing XI which, according to him, is ideal for the upcoming game against India. The playing XI has seen some changes from the general playing XI of the Men in Green.
The former player has dropped the likes of opener Sahibzada Farhan and has instead pitched for the batter Hussain Talat. However, his biggest change in the playing XI is the swap in batting roles.
Rashid Latif's Playing XI: Mohammad Haris, Hassan Nawaz, Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, Hussain Talat, Salman Agha, Mohammad Nawaz, Shaheen Afridi, Sufiyan Muqeem, Abrar Ahmed, and Haris Rauf.
Sahibzada Farhan, the top scorer against India, dropped ahead of the knockout stages
Sahibzada Farhan, the opener for the Pakistan team, was the highest scorer for the rivals against the Men in Blue in the group-stage game. He scored 40 runs and was the backbone of their innings.
The former player has suggested that Sahibzada Farhan should be dropped from the playing XI, and in turn, Mohammad Haris, the batter who played well in the Asia Cup opener in the top order, should be promoted up the order.
He has also suggested demoting opener Saim Ayub to a new position, as he has placed him in the no. 4 position. The batter has been splendid with the ball; however, his form has been concerning with the bat. Ayub has three ducks in the last three games.
Pakistan have cancelled their press conference ahead of the Super-4 match
Just ahead of the India vs Pakistan game in the Super-4 stage, the PCB has instructed them to cancel the press conference, which was scheduled to be held before the much-anticipated game.
The press conference has been cancelled, as this seems to be a silent revolt against the Asian Cricket Council as well as the ICC for not having listened to their demands following the India vs Pakistan group-stage game.
Pakistan would eye the top two spots in the points table, as they would desire to go on to feature in the final, which has been scheduled on the 28th of September.
