Openers: Abdullah Shafique, Imam-ul-Haq

Pakistan would like to wrap up the two-match Test series against South Africa that the team is currently involved in.

The Shan Masood-led side would aim to replicate the same performance that they delivered in the first match of the series, which resulted in a 93-run win for the home team.

Pakistan is expected to go with an unchanged playing XI, given it ticked almost every box, be it in the batting or bowling department.

The only concern for Pakistan would be the form of the openers, especially when it comes to batting in partnership against the new ball.

This opening pair of Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique were unable to get the team off to a good start as one of the two batters got out early in the first and second innings, respectively.

The duo would like to lay a platform for the incoming batters to capatalize on in the next match.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Shan Masood (c), Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Salman Ali Agha

The opening pair will be followed by a middle order that bailed the team out of trouble when they were in a spot of bother by losing quick wickets after a partnership between captain Shan Masood and Imam-ul-Haq.

Their middle order has a good blend of youth and experience, which includes the likes of current Test captain Shan Masood, former captain Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan, and Salman Ali Agha.

Pak team management would bank on the above-mentioned names to come good in the upcoming match, like they did in the series opener in Lahore.

The onus will be on the batters to convert the start that they get into big scores and help the hosts post a total of 350-400 in the first innings, which can prove to be decisive as the match progresses.

Bowlers: Shaheen Afridi, Hasan Ali, Noman Ali, Sajid Khan

The hosts, since the last couple of series, have changed their strategy and have opted to prepare spin-friendly tracks, which have reaped rewards for them.

The success that the change in plan brought was evident in the first Test against South Africa as well, with Noman Ali picking ten wickets in the match and bowling his team to an important win with a day left in the match.

Noman has been in magnificent form since the last few series and would want to carry that in the second and final match against South Africa.

Noman will be partnered by Sajid Khan and Salman Ali Agha as the spin bowling all-rounder, while Shaheen Afridi, who picked four wickets in the second innings to close out the game, will handle the fast bowling arsenal along with Hasan Ali.
