Pakistan will face South Africa in the third of the three-match ODI series. This article provides details about Pakistan's Playing 11 vs South Africa for the third match of the series.
Pakistan Playing XI vs South Africa- 3rd ODI, South Africa Tour of Pakistan 2025:
Openers: Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub
Pakistan would want to put on a strong performance to claim a win in the third and final ODI against South Africa, scheduled to be played on Saturday (November 8) at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.
Pakistan started the series well by registering a nervy win in the opening game and would aim to replicate that effort to end it with a win as well.
The home team is expected to go with an unchanged XI and back the individuals who featured in the previous match to rectify the mistakes they made in both the batting and bowling departments.
Home team will open the batting with the pair of Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub, both of whom are known for their attacking gameplay at the top of the order and would want to begin in a similar fashion.
Both Saim and Fakhar would hope to get some runs under their belt and prolong the start that they get, which they haven't been able to do in the previous two matches, despite looking in form.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Salman Ali Agha, Hussain Talat, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Nawaz
Along with the openers, the team management would bank on middle-order batters to come good and have a strong outing, which wasn't the case in the previous match, as the likes of former captains Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan failed to get going.
The two experienced batters will play a vital role in the upcoming match for Pakistan to post an above-par total while batting first.
Amidst the disappointing batting effort from Babar and Rizwan, credit must be given to Salman Ali Agha, who has scored runs in pressure situations in both games and would want to keep up the good work.
As is the case for the batting team in white ball cricket, the responsibility will be on the top five batters to score the majority of the runs for the team.
Bowlers: Shaheen Afridi (c), Mohammad Waseem Jr, Naseem Shah
If we talk about the team's bowling arsenal, it comprises Mohammad Nawaz, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Mohammad Waseem Jr, all of whom looked off colour in the second ODI.
The bowling department would like to put in a much-improved effort in the final game of the series to increase the home team's chances of winning the game.
The fast bowling trio of Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Mohammad Waseem Jr would be entrusted to pick up wickets with the new ball for the team, and will be assisted by fast bowling all-rounders Hussain Talat and Faheem Ashraf.
Pak's spin bowling will be handled by Mohammad Nawaz, with Salman Ali Agha and Saim Ayub also chipping in with a few overs.
