In the light of the upcoming ODI World Cup in 2027, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly taken multiple decisions to reform its national cricket team. The officials of the board have planned an additional multi-team series ahead of the ODI World Cup as part of their preparations.
According to the latest reports, PCB is all set to arrange a multi-nation ODI tournament this year, in August. Due to the proposed tournament, multiple Pakistan national cricket team stars may have to stay away from their commitments for the upcoming Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
Pakistan cricketers' commitment for CPL 2026 is at risk
At least seven players from the Men in Green are contracted for the upcoming CPL season. Due to PCB's planning for the upcoming months, those players who are about to feature in CPL 2026 with their respective franchises are likely to scrap their original schedule.
As of now, no official confirmation has been released by the Pakistan Cricket Board regarding the possible multi-team ODI tournament, where a total of four teams could take part. If the cricket board can successfully arrange the tournament, then it will be huge ahead of the ICC's flagship event.
