A controversy has emerged involving an unnamed Pakistan cricketer accused of failing to pay for cricket equipment during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. According to the latest reports, the player purchased three high-quality bats from a store in New Jersey but has yet to make the payment to the store owner.

The Men in Green are currently going through a challenging phase. Notably, the Men in Green struggled to meet expectations in major ICC tournaments. They failed to secure a spot in the semifinals of the 2023 ODI World Cup in India and suffered an early exit in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Unidentified Pakistan Cricketer Accused of Non-Payment During T20 World Cup 2024

Journalist Waheed Khan revealed that a player from the Men in Green failed to pay for cricket bats purchased during the 2024 T20 World Cup. Waheed stated that the player bought three bats from a store in New Jersey, and the store owner even traveled to New York to personally deliver them.

However, the cricketer has not responded to calls or messages despite multiple attempts to collect the payment. This incident will go down as a humiliation for the country's cricket fraternity, following their underwhelming performances in the 2025 Champions Trophy.

"A popular Pakistan player brought three bats from a cricket store owner in New Jersey during last year’s World Cup. The poor chap delivered the bats himself to the player in New York. The owner is still waiting for his payments and the player is not responding to his calls. V Sad," Waheed wrote.

Netizens Suspect Babar Azam in Unpaid Bat Controversy

The controversy surrounding an unnamed cricketer accused of failing to pay for cricket bats sparked discussions on social media. Many users speculated about the player's identity, with some even suggesting former captain Babar Azam as the culprit, but there is no evidence to support these claims.

Many have urged the accused player to come forward and address the allegations. Reports suggest the player is a well-known batter, with names like Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan being mentioned in speculation. If the accusations are true, it could further tarnish the reputation of Pakistan cricket.

Men in Green Currently Playing a Five-Match T20I Series in New Zealand

The Men in Green are currently playing a five-match T20I series against New Zealand. They lost the first two games in Christchurch and Dunedin but bounced back in the third match to keep their hopes alive in the series.

Skipper Salman Agha won the toss and opted to field first. New Zealand posted a competitive 204 runs, with Mark Chapman playing an explosive 94-run knock, while Michael Bracewell (31) chipped in with a contribution. Haris Rauf took three wickets, while Abbas Afridi, Shaheen Afridi, and Abrar Ahmed claimed two each.

Pakistan’s run chase was a one-sided affair. Hasan Nawaz smashed the fastest T20I century by a Pakistani batter in just 44 balls and remained unbeaten on 105 runs. Mohammad Haris (41) and Salman Agha (51*) also played crucial roles as Pakistan registered victory in just 16 overs.
