The Pakistan National Cricket Team has landed in fresh trouble after a disappointing campaign in the T20 World Cup 2026. They are already facing heavy criticism for their poor performance, and now, adding fuel to the fire, another controversy has come out from inside the squad.

During their stay in Sri Lanka during the T20 World Cup 2026, an incident involving a Pakistan squad member and a female hotel staff worker is all set to embarrass the PCB and the entire country. This incident happened in Kandy before their final Super 8 match against Sri Lanka.

Fresh controversy hits Pakistan as a player accused of misconduct with female hotel staff

As reported by Telecom Asia Sport, the Pakistan National Cricket Team was staying at the Golden Crown Hotel when the incident took place in Kandy. A player from the squad allegedly behaved in an inappropriate manner with a female housekeeping staff member inside the hotel.

Sources claimed, "Before Pakistan’s last Super Eight match against Sri Lanka, a Pakistan World Cup squad player misbehaved with a female housekeeping staff member."

The situation turned shocking when the hotel staff called for help. Hearing the noise, other hotel staff members came to rescue her. The matter was soon reached by Pakistan team manager Naveed Cheema, who reportedly handled this crime internally.

The sources added, “The staff member shouted and called for help, after which hotel staff came to her rescue and reported the matter to Pakistan team manager Naveed Cheema.”

PCB hiding the incident!!!

The same report revealed that senior officials at the Golden Crown Hotel were very angry after the incident, and the hotel management wanted strict action against the Pakistani cricketer because they felt the behavior was unacceptable. But the Pakistan team manager saved that player at that time.

Naveed Cheema reportedly apologized to the hotel authorities on behalf of the player and handled the issue inside the team. It is being said that the Pakistani player was later fined by the team management, but his name has not been revealed to avoid a bigger controversy during the event.

Even though the name of the player has not been revealed, the issue is expected to come up again once the team returns to Pakistan. Sources claimed that the player could be called by the PCB disciplinary committee for further investigation, and they could take stricter actions against him.

Shameful incidents in past

This controversy has come at the worst possible time for Pakistan. The team already had a disappointing campaign in the T20 World Cup 2026. They managed to beat Sri Lanka in their final Super Eight match but still failed to reach the semifinals because of a poor net run rate.

This latest incident has reminded many of earlier controversies during Pakistan tours. Last year, Haider Ali was taken into custody by Manchester Police during a Pakistan Shaheens tour of England over serious allegations before being released due to lack of evidence.

In another past episode, Pakistan cricket team masseur Malang Ali was also involved in shame during a tour of Malaysia after complaints about misconduct with a female staff member.
