The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 is all to clash with the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. As per a TOI report, it is learned that due to the packed international schedule of the Pakistan National Cricket Team, the league might not be played during its original window.

Pakistan National Cricket Team are all set to host the West Indies National Cricket Team for the two-match Test series. The first match will be played from 16th January. After that, the last game of the series will be played from 24th January to 28th January in Multan.

Following that, Pakistan will be hosting New Zealand and South Africa in the tri-series in February. After that, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will take place. The tournament is scheduled to take place from 19th February to 9th March across three venues in Pakistan.

Pakistan's home and away season concludes in April. This means that they won't be able to stage the Pakistan Super League at its original time. The tournament usually happens in February and March but with international cricket on the fray, the tournament will be moved to April.

Pakistan Cricket Board reportedly has looked for a window between April 7 to May 20 to stage the PSL 2025. The tournament will be played during the window in which the Indian Premier League usually takes place, and hence, both tournaments are likely to clash.

Hosting the PSL 2025 at the same window as the IPL 2025 will be a massive challenge for the Pakistan Cricket Board. The overseas players who play in both leagues will be under the radar, and they often prefer playing in IPL over PSL.

Pakistan Cricket Board recently met the franchise owners as well. The two parties discussed the option of directly signing one player from the other franchise. This will be done in addition to the marquee player offer in which the governing body supports franchises.

The reports also added that Peshawar and Quetta are being seen as potential venues for the Pakistan Super League. The Pakistan Cricket Board is in touch with the associations and soon will be taking the decision.

PCB announces increase in salary for domestic players

Pakistan Cricket Board has also announced the hike for the domestic players. The move comes in the wake of the development of cricket in Pakistan at the grassroots level, especially after poor performances by the team.

A total of 150 players will receive upgraded salaries across different categories. In the 1st category, 40 players will be getting PKR 550,000 per month, while in Category 2, 50 players will get PKR 400,000 per month. The 3rd category will see 60 players earning PKR 250,000 per month.

The match fees will also be increased. The players will now be getting PKR 200,000 per match. The 50-over games will see players getting PKR 125,000, and T20 matches will offer PKR 100,000 per match.
