The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced a commentary team for the upcoming two-match Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh, starting on August 21. The Pakistan Cricket Board named five commentators and one presenter, featuring a mix of experienced commentators and new voices.
Pakistan will begin their home season with the Test series against Bangladesh. The upcoming two-match series is part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle. Both teams will be hoping to secure victory in the Test series to boost their chances of reaching the WTC final next year.
Shan Masood will lead Pakistan in the series, while Najmul Hossain Shanto will captain Bangladesh. Notably, Bangladesh has never won a Test match against Pakistan in their 13 previous meetings. The Pakistan cricket team will aim to recover in the World Test Championship after a 0-3 defeat to Australia.

In an official statement, the PCB announced the commentary team for the upcoming Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh. Aamir Sohail, Athar Ali Khan, Bazid Khan, Nick Compton, and Urooj Mumtaz will serve as commentators, while Sikander Bakht will be the presenter for the series.
"The Pakistan Cricket Board also confirmed a panel of five commentators and one presenter for the Pakistan versus Bangladesh Test series taking place in Rawalpindi and Karachi. The first Test will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from 21 to 25 August, while the second Test match will be played at the National Bank Stadium from 30 August to 3 September,” the PCB said in a presser.
"Aamir Sohail, Athar Ali Khan, Bazid Khan, Nick Compton, and Urooj Mumtaz will be on the commentary panel, while Sikander Bakht will be the presenter."
Athar Ali Khan is the only commentator from Bangladesh on the panel. Nick Compton, the former England cricketer, will bring a neutral perspective to the commentary for the upcoming Test series.
Pakistan In Fifth Place In ICC World Test Championship Points Table
The Bangladesh squad arrived in Lahore earlier this week under heavy security for their series in Pakistan. Bangladesh is currently eighth in the World Test Championship standings with one win from three matches. Following the Pakistan tour, the team will travel to India and the West Indies for five Tests.
India and Australia are currently leading the World Test Championship standings. The Pakistan team is in fifth with a point percentage of 36.66%. They have lost three out of the five Tests played in the 2023-25 cycle. Naseem Shah, who played the last Test in July 2023 in Sri Lanka, was recalled to the team.
The Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh will commence on August 21 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. The second and final Test match is scheduled to be played at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi from August 30.
