Pakistan Women have managed to beat India Women only once in the history of the Women's Asia Cup, with that victory coming in the 2022 edition in Sylhet. The two teams are set to meet again in the 2026 Women's Asia Cup in Dubai on Saturday, September 5, with India entering the contest after already securing a place in the semi-finals.
The rivalry has largely been dominated by India in the continental tournament. Pakistan have faced India seven times in the Women's T20 Asia Cup, winning just once, while India have won the other six encounters. The latest meeting adds another chapter to a fixture where Pakistan will be looking to repeat their 2022 success.
Pakistan Women’s only Asia Cup win over India: When did it happen?
Pakistan Women registered their only Asia Cup victory over India on October 7, 2022, during the Women's Asia Cup in Sylhet. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
After losing three wickets for just 33 runs, Pakistan recovered through captain Bismah Maroof and Nida Dar. The pair added 76 runs for the fourth wicket, with Dar providing the late acceleration. She finished unbeaten on 56 off 37 balls, including five fours and one six, as Pakistan posted 137/6 in 20 overs.
India struggled during the chase and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Richa Ghosh gave them hope with a quick 26 off 13 balls, while Deepti Sharma scored 16 from 11. However, Pakistan's bowlers kept control of the innings and dismissed India for 124 in 19.4 overs.
Nashra Sandhu was the pick of the attack with 3/30, while Nida Dar and Sadia Iqbal claimed two wickets apiece. Pakistan therefore secured a 13-run victory, with Dar being named Player of the Match.

We are always one step ahead of them - Deepti Sharma issues warning to Pakistan
India will head into the Dubai clash as favourites after winning their opening two matches against Thailand and Hong Kong. They have already qualified for the semi-finals, while Deepti Sharma believes India's consistency against Pakistan has helped them maintain the upper hand. Speaking ahead of the game, Deepti said:
"Look, there is no advantage as such. The only thing is that whatever we have won against them (Pakistan), whether it is the Asia Cup or any other matches, we are always one step ahead of them. And that's it," Deepti said at the pre-match press conference.
"The whole team is performing well. If you look at the bowling unit or the batting unit, I think both things are balanced. The one who has a good day, she tries to do better and take the game further. And those around her, they try to stay positive things so that they step in more in their game."
