Indian women’s cricket team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana’s fiancé and music composer Palash Muchhal was discharged from the hospital on November 26. Earlier this week, he was admitted to the hospital following the sudden postponement of his wedding to Smriti Mandhana.

Doctors have confirmed that the music composer’s health was triggered by extreme stress rather than a serious heart problem. They revealed that Palash first received treatment at a hospital in Sangli after experiencing chest discomfort.

When his symptoms persisted, Palash was shifted to the SRV Hospital in Mumbai, where he was admitted with severe chest pain, breathlessness, and uneasiness. Doctors immediately ran routine heart tests, including ECG and 2D echocardiography.

Some of the levels were slightly higher than normal, but there were no signs of a serious cardiac emergency. He was given oxygen support as a precaution and kept under careful observation. Once his condition stabilised, he was moved to a general hospital room.

According to the medical team, his vitals improved steadily over the next few days with rest and proper care. The SRV Hospital confirmed that Palaash is stable and has been discharged. He has been advised to take complete rest for at least three weeks to avoid the symptoms from returning.

There was no indication of a major cardiac issue: Doctors

Dr Dipendra Tripathi, one of the senior doctors monitoring him, was quoted as saying by Mid-Day, “Palaash’s condition appears to be linked to stress-related distress rather than a serious cardiac event. While certain levels were found to be slightly elevated, there was no indication of a major cardiac or medical emergency.”

Palash was discharged from the hospital just after Smriti Mandhana’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, was also discharged from Sarvhit Hospital earlier this week, bringing some relief to both families.

Palash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana's wedding episode

Meanwhile, it should have been a joyful wedding day for Palash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana, but it turned into a deeply emotional and stressful experience for both families.

The couple was all set to get married on November 23 in Sangli, and almost all the pre-wedding rituals were already done.

But just a few hours before the pheras, everything changed. Smriti’s father suddenly fell ill while getting ready for the baraat. He showed signs similar to a heart attack and had to be rushed to Sarvhit Hospital immediately, leaving everyone stunned because he had been perfectly fine.

He was dancing, smiling, and even posting happily on Instagram. After which, Palash made the tough call to postpone the wedding. He is extremely close to Smriti’s father and didn’t want to continue with the rituals while he was fighting a health scare.

The stress of the situation hit the Music composer so hard that he broke down emotionally and had to be taken to the hospital as well. Doctors kept him under observation for four hours, and his sister, singer Palak Muchhal, rushed to be with him.

Now, the wedding is on hold as both families have decided to focus only on recovery and health. Once things settle down and everyone feels ready, a new wedding date will be planned.
